Joy Chang

Principal, Chief Designer

Joy Chang graduated in Interior Design in Taiwan and later pursued further studies in Architectural Design in Japan. With over 25 years of experience, she has worked on a diverse range of residential and commercial projects in Japan, Taiwan and Vancouver.

Before establishing her own practice, Joy worked with global development and design consulting firms on major projects from initial concept through completion, building a strong foundation in architecture design, interior design and project coordination.

Joy’s design philosophy centers on creating a natural and dynamic sense of balance. Through asymmetry, proportion, material contrast and negative space, she creates spaces with depth, rhythm and visual harmony.

Influenced by Japanese Zen culture and the beauty of simplicity, Joy approaches each project with a refined and timeless sensibility, responding to its context and each client’s needs. She believes successful spaces should naturally connect aesthetics, function, emotion and environment.

Joy has also contributed to television, radio and design publications, sharing her perspectives on design and architecture. In recent years, her work has received awards and finalist recognition from leading Canadian industry programs.
